I had A LOT of coupons that expired on March 31 that I didn’t use. I don’t have to feel bad about throwing these away anymore, thanks to Shelby at Shelby Making Cents who emailed me to let me know that military families stationed overseas can use coupons up to 6 months past their expiration date!
The Happy Housewife started a program in 2008 to benefit our families stationed abroad. If you go to her site here, it will give more details but basically you are assigned a family by emailing her and then you send your newly expired coupons to that family. It is just like mailing a regular mail envelope since mailing to a military APO address is considered a domestic address. What a great way to help our troops and their families!

I started Nicole's Nickels in February 2009 to bring all of the great deals I was finding to my friends and family and then it took off! Since then I've continued my full-time day job as an attorney while blogging in the evenings and on weekends. I help my clients during the days at the non-profit I work for and then my Nicole's Nickels readers trying to find the best deals for their family! I live in south/central Florida and have 2 cute dogs (see their picture under "mascots") and an amazing boyfriend who has a spunky 6 year old we get to spend a lot of time with. I love telling my readers about great deals and also about the cool products I get to try. Most of all I love giving stuff away to my readers! I hope you'll take the time to

many stores also except expired coupons-I only have had it once (at Walmart) that they didn’t accept a coupon b/c it was expired (and it was like 8 months expired-ooops! I thought it was actually still good but the YEAR was a year before the current year-eek! that one must have gotten lost in my stash!)
Usually when I use expired coupons they are only a month or two expired.
Just thought I would pass on my information from my experience!
