Review: Swiffer Wet Jet

by Nicole on September 4, 2009

I used to have a Swiffer Wet Jet when they first came out but I never felt that it worked properly and I think it got thrown away in my last move. I was excited to try out the new Swiffer Wet Jet and hoped it was an improvement over the one I had previously owned. I’m happy to tell you that it was! Thanks to My Blog Spark, I was sent a “Swiffer Jet Impossible” kit a la Mission Impossible, complete with black sunglasses, the wet jet, cleaning solution and jelly to stain the floor. Since I live in south Florida my whole house is tile save the bedrooms. It’s a lot of ground to cover and I was wondering how many pads I’d go through. The product is very easy to assemble and use and I was happy to see the 2 nozzles on either side and the scrubbing pad as shown below.

I first swept the floor to get rid of the crumbs and dog hair. Then I put the jelly down in a corner and let it dry. It took a lot of willpower to let it just sit there, I have to tell you. In the end, the Wet Jet and I attacked the floor and I was really happy with how it turned out. The jelly came up with the help of the scrubbing pad and the cleaning solution that comes with it smelled nice and didn’t streak my floors. This version is a big improvement over the one I used to own. The product feels sturdier and the pad larger. The scrubbing strip really helps get rid of dirt.

I ended up using 3 pads but would have likely only used 2 except for the jelly stain. I have been receiving a lot of coupons in the P&G coupon inserts each month that make this product more affordable. Combining the coupons with a good sale will help even more. There is, of course, nothing cheaper than your old-fashioned mop but this Wet Jet certainly is a big time-saver and that’s worth a lot to me.

This product review was based on using a complimentary Swiffer Wet Jet provided by P&G. P&G does not represent or warrant the accuracy of any statements or product claims made here, nor does it endorse any opinions expressed within this blogsite.
