PamInCa recently emailed me to let me know that she had published a book on mystery shopping called The Essential Guide to Mystery Shopping and asked me to review a copy of it. I’m so excited about this book and couldn’t wait to share it with my readers.
The Essential Guide to Mystery Shopping is great for those of you who are new to mystery shopping. The book is divided into chapters, such as “What tools do I need” and “New Shopper Support among others. PamInCa (a pseudonym to maintain her anonymity) writes in a very clear and easy to understand manner, explaining how to get started and what equipment you need.
There is a very large list at the end of the book of mystery shopping companies to sign up with (with live links in the ebook format) as well as commentary from schedulers from several large companies about what they look for in shoppers and what not to do. Even though I have been mystery shopping for well over a year now, I still found this book to be helpful and I learned new things from it.
Pam is a seasoned mystery shopping professional with years of experience. Pam’s tips about scheduling shops and setting up your own shopping calendar have inspired me to become more organized and methodical with my shopping. Every mystery shopper can benefit from this helpful book. You can order the book in ebook form or paperback form.

I have been a mystery shopper for years. I know PamInCa from the message board and she knows her stuff. I haven't been there for a while, so I didn't know she was writing a book. I am going to have to get it now though. Thanks for posting this!
I have been doing mystery shopping for a few weeks. I love it! What is the easiest way to search for jobs. I have signed up with almost 100 companies and was wondering if you have any advice on how to grab the jobs quick without spending hours going to all the job boards. thanks
I have been ms for a few weeks now. what is the best way to grab jobs quickly? I have signed up with about 100 companies and have not found a good way to search thru all the job boards quickly. any suggestions?
Hi Jennifer: Each company is different – some release on a specific day each month and make this public, while others post jobs constantly throughout the month and you just need to check their listings. Over time you'll come to know which to check every day and which will email you with openings….I'm sorry I don't have a better answer but there is no uniform system!
