Review: Eye-Fi Share Video Card

by Nicole on January 7, 2010

I wish I had thought of this product! The Eye-Fi Share Video Card automatically posts your family photo and video memories oneyefi your Facebook or Flickr page for friends and family to see. Simply turn your camera on and let Eye-Fi do its magic – it wirelessly sends photo and videos to organized files on your PC and Mac for safe-keeping, and your favorite sharing site like Snapfish, Shutterfly, Facebook and Picasa.

You cna upload pics and even video to your computer and/or favorite online sharing or social media site.  No more searching for the cord to connect your camera to the computer – now you have automatic uploads! This product is a huge time-saver with not a huge price considering all of its great features.  The Eye-Fi Share Video card retails for $79 and is avaialable at Best Buy and Apple, both in stores and online.

I found the card to be easy to use and fairly intuitive.  You need a wi-fi network (best to use a home network) and you must be pretty close to the router in order for the pictures to upload.  This was the only negative I found in my review – I wish I could have been anywhere in my home for it to work but you had to be close to the router.  Your camera must be SDHC compatible and the card has a capacity of 4GB – that’s a lot of photos!

This makes a great gift for someone who takes a lot of pictures or someone who doesn’t but likes convenience! A new mother would be a great recipient – she certainly doesn’t have time to go cord-hunting! Everyone I have explained this product to thinks it is a great idea and I’m so happy not to search for the cord again!

Hey Nicole, I have one too, I have the Eye-Fi Pro. I hardly ever use it b/c like you said you have to be close to the router. The first time I used it, it worked but it uploaded about 5 copies of the same picture and the Eye-Fi website was more confusing than the memory card itself.
