Lunchables Ultimate Field Trip Contest

by Nicole on April 25, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Lunchables. All opinions are 100% mine.

Lunchables is having an amazing contest that I am excited to tell you all about! Anyone over the age of 6 can nominate a classroom to receive an all-expense paid field trip.  50 classrooms will win the opportunity to go an enriching and educational field trip.  Just check out to make your nomination.

I grew up outside Washington DC and was so lucky to have had the chance to take awesome field trips.  Being able to spend the day at the National Gallery or the Air & Space Museum was incredible and many kids today don’t have such field trip opportunities.  School budgets get cut every year and “discretionary” items like field trips are one of the first to go.  A 2009 report from the American Association of School Administrators says that 30,000 schools will eliminate field trips in the coming year.

Here comes Lunchables with this fabulous contest called Field Trips For All to bring back the educational field trip! “Field Trips for All” is the first phase in Lunchables new Project Potential initiative to bring children educational experiences they would not otherwise have had the chance to have.  Field trips are such powerful ways for kids to learn hands-on and supplement their in-school learning.

Check out this short video called “Alien Field Trip” to learn more about the kind of cool field trips this contest promotes.

I am excited to nominate a school in Philadelphia where I student taught.  The students do not have a lot of money and many have had tough lives.  Field trips are not common there and would be a wonderful thing for these students.

Spread the word about this great contest and make sure to nominate a classroom you feel is worthy.
