As a member of Bumble Bee’s Bee Squad I get a lot of information about the company. I wanted to be sure to share a few great things that Bumble Bee has been doing recently.
Chef Scott Leibfried of Hell’s Kitchen fame has become the Bumble Bee chef! He is doing a ten week series of recipe webisodes for you to cook creatively using Bumble Bee products. Check out the introduction to the series and don’t forget to “like” Bumble Bee on Facebook to get notifications as to when new videos are posted!
Bumble Bee also recently just announced its rollout of the first phase of sodium reductions across its full product line beginning with all canned albacore tuna products and all light meat tuna (albacore is the American brand’s most popular line and the category it leads). Available May 2010, new low sodium Bumble Bee albacore will have 140mg of sodium or less per serving, a reduction of 44 percent. Bumble Bee’s light meat tuna products are being reduced to 180mg (per fish type). The average level of sodium in canned tuna in the U.S. is currently 200mg per serving. The good news for consumers: even healthier nutrition that’s affordable and convenient.
