Mint Budgeting Software

by Nicole on May 18, 2010

I have received several emails recently asking me about the different budgeting softwares out there and so I wanted to tell you all about  First of all, is completely FREE (that’s not even the best part!).

With you enter in all of your info and it tracks how much you spend and on what and even helps you budget yourself better.  Many times, seeing what you spend and where you spend it will cause you to start spending less right away.  It’s very easy to not be aware of what you spend money on when you’re not accountable!

To start, register for FREE.  Then enter in your usernames and passwords for your bank accounts, credit cards, loans, etc. has bank level security so if you do online banking then you shouldn’t have a problem with this part. will then pull all of your transactions and categorize them to help you see your spending more clearly.  It’s easy to modify the categories.

You can set a budget and the system will tell you if/when you go over budget.  It’s hard to argue with accurate and up to date numbers right in front of you.  Maybe this is what you need to kickstart the saving or curb the spending?

I have been using Mint for about 2 months now. It has been eyeopening! I am glad you featured it in your blog. It has been a great tool for me.
