I was fortunate enough to attend the Savvy Blogging Summit in Breckenridge, Colorado a few weeks ago. It was a 2 day conference designed to help bloggers become better!
We were divided into small groups and had classes with leaders in their field. What set it apart from most conferences was its small size as well as the fact that actual experts taught us. It was refreshing to know there are some things I am doing right though I came back with a huge to-do list that I hope to tackle once I get back from BlogHer in a few weeks.
The sessions we had were:
- SEO Tips
- CSS Code and Design
- Media Kit Creation
- Blogging in the Media
- Building Community
- Communication and Personal Productivity
- Photography
- Consulting and Proposal Writing
- Strategic Planning
All the sessions were great but I particularly enjoyed SEO Tips and CSS Code and Design. There is so much of the technical part of blogging that I don’t understand but these sessions really broke it down for me!
The good news is that even if you weren’t able to attend the Savvy Blogging Summit you can purchase these sessions for $10 each or $97 for all sessions. For bloggers interested in growing their blogs, these sessions are a must. I love that I can listen to them over and over as I get a new piece of useful information each time I do!
While I didn’t enjoy the high altitude I also loved seeing bloggers I had met before (Briana from Bargain Briana, Rachel from Surviving the Stores, Julia from Bargain Babe, Corrie from “Cents”able Momma, etc.) and meeting bloggers I have known online only in real life (Heather from Passion for Savings, Keri Lyn from She Saved, and Jennifer from Saving and Giving, among others!). I am looking forward to see what the special ladies behind the Savvy Blogging Summit plan next!

I started Nicole's Nickels in February 2009 to bring all of the great deals I was finding to my friends and family and then it took off! Since then I've continued my full-time day job as an attorney while blogging in the evenings and on weekends. I help my clients during the days at the non-profit I work for and then my Nicole's Nickels readers trying to find the best deals for their family! I live in south/central Florida and have 2 cute dogs (see their picture under "mascots") and an amazing boyfriend who has a spunky 6 year old we get to spend a lot of time with. I love telling my readers about great deals and also about the cool products I get to try. Most of all I love giving stuff away to my readers! I hope you'll take the time to
