Libman Freedom Spray Mop Review & Giveaway

by Nicole on September 30, 2010

Name of Product: Libman Freedom Spray Mop

Price of Product: $25.99

Where can the product be purchased: online from Amazon and other websites and retailers nationwide

Description of Product: “Don´t let expensive disposable cleaning pads, costly chemical refills or dead batteries get in the way of you and clean floors. Freedom Spray Mop lets you get down to business, cleaning your floors the best way possible. Your way. Comes with a scratch-free, removable deep cleaning pad. Cleaning pad is machine washable, up to 50 times. No need to purchase disposable cleaning pads. Reduces waste while saving you money. Detachable, 18 oz. cleaning solution bottle. Use and refill the bottle with any cleaner you choose. You can even fill the bottle with water for an extra gentle clean. No heavy buckets needed, just grab and go. Self-powered solution sprayer has a comfort fit trigger. You control how much you spray to clean those solution-sensitive surfaces. No batteries needed.”

Review of Product: Many people are familiar with the the Freedom Mop’s competition and how it is a great alternative to those old fashioned mops. Well, I recently had the opportunity to try out the Libman’s Freedom Spray Mop. It is very similar in concept to the leading competition but there are many key differences that I liked. Unlike the competition, the Freedom Spray Mop allows you the “freedom” to use your own cleaning solution instead of having to buy the expensive solutions that are made for the mop. You can use Mr. Clean or any other solution as you would with a regular mop and put it in the bottle. The pad is reusable and has a microfiber surface. You can hand or machine wash the pad instead of having to use a new pad everytime you use the mop. Finally, the mop does not run on batteries which would be an additional cost. The mop performed well and did what it is supposed to do, cleaned my floors. The mop can be found at most major grocery or home stores. I believe this is a great and cheaper alternative to other spray mops because you have more “freedom” as Libman’s advertises.

BidCactus – Penny Auctions

by Nicole on September 29, 2010

I heard about this site BidCactus and was a little reluctant to give it a try.  I received 20 bids in my account to try the site out and was so happy with how it worked out I wanted to share it! BidCactus is a penny auction site where you can bid on a variety of items.

It’s FREE to register and then you’ll have to buy a bidpack.  I was given 20 bids and stayed with those.  I quickly figured out the site and was fascinated! You use your bids to increase the bid on the auction by 1 penny.  There are 10 auctions going at the same time and you can easily see when each ends.  I bid on a $50 Best Buy Giftcard.  I clicked for more info and found that shipping was $4.99 and I’d have to pay that plus the ending price of the auction if I won.  I ended up winning it for $.52 – yes, you read that right 52 cents!

I elected to pay through PayPal (so easy!) and paid $5.51 out of pocket.  You’d need to add this to whatever you spent on the bids as well so if I had paid for the bids I would have spent $20.51 for a $50 giftcard which is an awesome deal!

Now the downside is that the site is a little of a gamble and I know it’s not for everyone.  I mean, I could have spent the 20 bids and not won anything.  I think it’s important to have set in your mind how much you are willing to spend for each giftcard.  You can also see past auctions and what things went for.  It’s important to keep it all in perspective!

If you’d like to check out BidCactus, please fill out the short form below so I can let them know! By completing the form you are not signing up for BidCactus or committing to buying anything on the site – it’s just for me to be able to let them know which Nicole’s Nickels readers are interested!

I was given 20 bids to try the site out but my opinions are my own!

AdoramaPix Photobook Review & Giveaway

by Nicole on September 29, 2010

Name of Product: AdoramaPix Photobook

Price of Product: up to $130

Where can the product be purchased: online from AdoramaPix

Description of Product: “AdoramaPix photobooks are professional quality photobooks printed on real photo paper! This paper, developed by Fujifilm specifically for photobooks, produces vibrant, rich colors that last a lifetime. The books’ unique binding ensures that no part of your images are lost to the gutter and that every page opens and lays flat.”

Review of Product: I loved the finished product of the AdoramaPix photo book but found their site slightly more difficult to navigate than the other online photo sites.  There was a lot of customization available which I like and after some time at it the site became more familiar to me.  The learning curve is steeper but the finished product was well worth it.  The lay flat pages make a really nice book and it’ll be treasured for years to come!

Giveaway: The folks over at AdoramaPix have graciously decided to give one (1) lucky Nicole’s Nickels reader their own AdoramaPix photo book – up to a $130 value!

You will have 7 ways to enter but the first entry is MANDATORY. You MUST fill out the form for EACH entry you are able to make. Just click “refresh” to get the form back after you make each entry.

  • MANDATORY Entry: Who would you give this book to (or would it be for yourself) if you won?
  • subscribe to my blog (either via email using the box in the left sidebar OR via RSS feed). If you already subscribe fill in the form saying you do. If you subscribe by email you MUST confirm your email and activate the subscription.
  • follow me on Twitter (http://twitter.com/NicolesNickels) and AdoramaPix on Twitter AND tweet about this giveaway.
  • blog about this giveaway (leave the link in the form)
  • email 5 people about this giveaway (please cc me on this email – nicolesnickels at gmail dot com and fill out the form saying you sent the email)
