I was thrilled to be invited to a T.J. Maxx Behind the Seams event that took place online a few weeks ago. I frequently shop at TJ Maxx but am always looking forward to hearing more about the company and was hoping to get a few bargain shopping tips, which I did!
The event was hosted by the fabulous Alison Deyette who had so much information to share with us! For instance, did you know that everything sold at TJ Maxx is from this season unless it specifically says “last season” on the tags? I found this out recently when a friend found the bridesmaid dress she had been scoping at Nordstrom for $100 cheaper – so awesome!
I also learned about “The Runway” a section in some TJ Maxx stores reserved for designer pieces – still at those low prices you expect from TJ Maxx! I saw a “The Runway” section when I was in Boston recently and loved it. The items were super high fashion at reasonable prices. If you have your heart set on a specific designer item definitely check TJ Maxx before you pay (gasp!) full price!
Alison showed us some great finds from TJ Maxx and even gave away some items to bloggers who were able to guess the TJ Maxx price when given the retail price. I was loving the Michael Kors bag – did you know TJ Maxx sells them? I saw one at my TJ Maxx after the event!
TJ Maxx sent me a $50 giftcard so I could put my newly learned information to practice. I’m happy to report I was able to get all of the above for only $50! That’s 2 Strawberry Shortcake toy sets, a cute set of holiday-decorated spreaders, a box of Harry & David Moose Crunch, a dog toy, and a set of 3 coordinated gift bags – like how the gift bags coordinate with my blog colors?
TJ Maxx issued the participating bloggers a challenge – whoever gets the most comments on their TJ Maxx post, gets a $100 TJ Maxx giftcard to share with their readers! So definitely leave a comment on this post (maybe tell me your best TJ Maxx find?) so we’ll be in the running for the giftcard!
