Heart Of Haiti Mother’s Day Post

by Nicole on May 3, 2011

Around this time every year most people reflect on their mothers or women who are perhaps like mothers to them.  So when asked to write a post on “a woman who helped you”, I had already been thinking a little about this.

There are a lot of very special women in my life who have helped influence my life in some way or another.  My mother is of course, the first woman that comes to mind but there are certainly others who have had influences whether big or small, that deserve some kind of recognition.  I’m not going to single anyone out in this post but rather write collectively about all of the women who have helped me.

My mother has of course always been there for me but I have 4 wonderful aunts and several great-aunts who have had a big influence on me. My two grandmothers were both very strong and superb people who taught me a lot when they were still with us.   The other women I think of are my friends who I have had for many years and awesome teachers who have really helped me become the woman I am today.  I don’t think it’s fair to single anyone out, I just hope that there are women out there who consider me as helpful and influential as I consider the women who have helped shape my life!
