Allegra Review

by Nicole on April 13, 2012

Name of Product: Allegra Allergy

Where can the product be purchased: at retailers nationwide

Description of Product:Spring has sprung, and that means so has spring cleaning. As you get set to dump, dust and de-clutter, don’t forget to remind them to overhaul one of the most overlooked areas in the bathroom—the medicine cabinet.

Here are three simple swaps!

· Non-SPF lotion for sunscreen. According to the Centers for Disease Control, UV rays from sunlight are the greatest during the late spring and early summer.[1] Make sure cabinet shelves are stocked with sunscreen that has an SPF of 15 or higher to protect sensitive skin from the harsh rays.

· Cold & flu medicine for an allergy solution. Spring is prime time for allergy symptoms, but patients don’t have to suffer from them or dismiss the possibility of their relief. Dr. Eli Meltzer, an Allergist at the Allergy & Asthma Medical Group and Research Center, often recommends Allegra®, the newest over-the-counter allergy medication, for his patients. Allegra is the only branded antihistamine that combines fast,* non-drowsy, 24-hour relief from the toughest indoor and outdoor allergy symptoms—including itchy and watery eyes and a runny nose. It is now available in a convenient 70-count family pack at a better value.

· Expired medications for up-to-date ones. Dispose of outdated over-the-counter pills and prescribed medications, and purge personal care products that have changed in appearance, smell or texture. If you are unsure of what you should toss, check with a pharmacist.”

Review of Product: I have taken allergy medicine off and on for most of my life now! When I was younger I had terrible allergies and started allergy shots at age 2-late teenager.  I outgrew most of my allergies except I am now very allergic to fire ants which is a horrible allergy to have living in south Florida where fire ants are all over the place.  I do get some seasonal allergies and they are definitely flaring up now! I’ve had a sore throat and slight congestion for over a week and took some Allegra to see if it would help – I’m happy to report that it did! I like to rotate the kinds of allergy meds I take.  I took the 12 hour pill the first day just because I hadn’t ever tried the product before and the next day I took the 24 hour pill.  Noah has also been congested and I started him on the Allegra child’s product which has given him some relief.  I’m always happy to find a product that helps us and Allegra definitely does! I received a sample of these products to review at no charge but my opinions remain my own.
