Review of Product: I am a steak lover and am picky about the steaks I buy, I guess you could call me a steak snob.  So when the awesome people at Walmart let me know that they now have USDA Choice Steaks I was excited to try them.  I shop at Walmart for value and steaks are so expensive that I was hopeful the value would extend to them.  I was first able to watch a webcast with Chef Eric Lackey where he went over different cuts of steak and gave a lot of information about the Walmart USDA Choice Steaks.

Did you know Walmart offers a 100% money back satisfaction guarantee? If you aren’t satisfied just bring in your receipt for a full refund, that’s how confident Walmart is in their new steaks!

So this Memorial Day weekend I was excited to try out a recipe with the new Walmart USDA Choice Steaks for my family.  I made the Grilled Ribeye with Everglades Rub – the recipe was pretty easy and involved roasting a head of garlic and making a paste with the garlic and various spices to rub on the steak and then grill.  Yummy! The steak was super tender and very flavorful and the best part was the price! I also made Coca-Cola Balsamic Marinated Bermuda Onion which was really delicious.  Walmart helped to make my family’s Memorial Day BBQ a very memorable (and flavorful!) one!

I received a  giftcard to try out the new Walmart USDA Choice Steaks but my opinions remain my own.

I saw a Walmart commercial a few days ago for the steaks and did a double-take since most of the Walmarts in my area have only started to get grocery sections, and I’ve never seen USDA Choice Steaks at Walmart. Thanks for the review! I’ll have to look for them next time I’m at one of the remodeled or new Walmarts.

Aw, it’s Memorial Day and how I wish I’d bought some of these when I was at WalMart on Saturday! Sure would make a much more interesting grill-out meal than the hot dogs we plan on having! :-)

We tried this today! And I’m not satisfied. We are a steak lover. And we spending a lot of money just to obtain a very tasty, juicy and tender steak. After spending $40 on 4 steak, I’m not satisfied. My kids eat it, because thats all we having today. I don’t have a back up plan. Im disappointed by it. Its dry and hard! I took a picture today but the I forgot to take a picture last night when its still raw.

I saw the ad also over the weekend, and maybe I’ll try them someday or not (my husband is a butcher)!

@Nicole, I definitely go back and ask for my money back. I don’t like to do it. I wouldn’t know the result if I didn’t try it. And I didn’t marinate the steak.

We had them this evening and were terribly disappointed. The meat was tough and had gristle in it. No better than common supermarket steaks and worse than some. We will not buy them again.

We bought these steaks on 8/13/2012. We grilled them, they looked really good, but had no taste were tough to the point of not being able to cut them, and it was impossible to chew. We will never use these steaks again. We paid over 8 dollars for these!

Tried Walmart Filets yesterday, because of their new commercial. Was sure we wouldn’t like them. To our surprise, they were the best steaks we have ever made. Restaurant quality. They were about $15 a pound and worth every penny. They had no fat or grizzle. We ate everything. Nothing left on the plate. Will be buying those again for sure.
