Halloween Recipes with Mazola

by Pennie on October 24, 2012

Mazola has some wicked cute recipes for Halloween!  I love the Creepy Mini Pizza above.  It’s the perfect size and simple enough for a make-your-own pizza party for kids.  Looking at it right now, I want one!

There are also recipes for:

The great thing about these recipes is not only can they add a little fun to a Halloween party and the fall season, Mazola wants us to know they are also kind to your heart:

  • When using cooking oil, be sure to opt for corn oil. Corn oil contains the highest amount of naturally occurring plant sterols per serving.
  • Corn oil contains four times as many sterols as olive oil and 40 percent more than canola oil.
  • Research shows plant sterols, like the ones in Mazola corn oil, can significantly reduce the body’s cholesterol absorption.
  • In fact, plant sterols are one of the most effective nutrients at naturally lowering cholesterol. The FDA recognizes diets rich in plant sterols reduce the risk of heart disease.

I did not know that corn oil has the highest amount of naturally occurring plant sterols per serving! I like the recipe Double Dipped Caramel apples! Mazola is good cooking oil, but I have not used it in years. I will be getting some soon!

We make pizza at our house at least once a week. This would make it really fun for the kids, thanks for the inspiration!
