This weekend is Dove’s third annual Dove® Self-Esteem Weekend taking place nationwide. “Let’s Talk” is the theme of the Self-Esteem Weekend, because you can help a girl develop a positive relationship with beauty by simply having a conversation.
To kick-off the weekend, on October 5th Dove® is hosting a self-esteem building rally and then will “Walk the Talk” with mentors and girls from their partner organizations (Girls, Inc., Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and Girl Scouts of the U.S.A), by marching in silence to the heart of Times Square. They’re marching in silence to represent all the conversations about beauty anxiety that haven’t taken place.
Dove® has a wide range of tools to assist you – from tips on how to start the self-esteem conversation with a girl in your life, to assets on how to replicate the “Let’s Talk” workshop, rally or march in your neighborhood.
Dove® has reached more than 8 million girls through their self-esteem programming thus far, and with your help they can reach 15 million by 2015.
For all of you with young daughters, this is a very important conversation to have with them surrounded as we are by media’s vision of the ultimate beauty. Help build the confidence and self-esteem that make them beautiful! There is even help on how to start the conversation!
