12/11 Pinterest Pin of the Week: Unusual Christmas Trees!

by Pennie on December 11, 2012

This week I gathered a few pins to show the unique and different ways that people create their Christmas trees.  These are mostly just pictures with no real instructions, but I think you could figure them out if you wanted to make one.  Or, like me, you can just be inspired by the cleverness of others!

This first one, as far as I can trace, comes to us from Heart of Pudding on tumblr.  I was especially taken by this because of the homemade but elegant look of it.  In case you can’t quite tell those are small logs/branches of increasing size and a string of lights wrapped from corner to corner.  Not sure how the logs are attached to the wall, but it’s clever, simple and pretty!

Now I don’t think you could make this next one between now and Christmas, but perhaps you could start now for next year.  You’ll have fun trying to get there because those are wine bottles!

This next one I’ve seen around for a while, in various forms.  If you are a reader and have tons of books (like I do) this is a good way to make that stack of books into something festive!

These next 2 are for DIYers, especially if you are in the midst of remodeling at this time of year!  So clever!

Here’s one for gardeners, or even if you have a black thumb!

This one comes from Not Martha and is really amazing.  It would take some time to make but I love the light weight quality of it.  Now, if you have kids or pets around I think you would want to use plastic bulbs.  I know this would drive my daughter’s cats crazy!

Ok just to wrap this up (because I love Christmas trees AND Pinterest and could go on forever)…if you have absolutely no crafting capability at all, or no time, this last tree is for you!  And while I don’t think I’d put this type of tape on the wall (perhaps painters tape), it still evokes the spirit of the season in its simplicity!

I love the log/branch tree and the books – so different. I never thought of doing something like this – maybe one day in the future.

I love these! My fave is the log/branch one and the one made out of green ornaments. Good ideas for next yr for outside on my patio wall.

They are all pretty neat trees. I would have to go with the last one since it’s probably the easiest to make. I usually have a lot of black tape around the house.

Those are neat trees. I’m surprised I haven’t seen the ladder tree as an outdoor decoration! I may have to try that.

Unusual and very creative Christmas tree shown. I seen the book one before but without lights. I have enough books for this one being a book lover but no room to set it up. I am going to keep these pictures as I like to different stuff for my tree each Christmas. Thanks for the pictures and site s for them
