I love cooking for the holidays and my family often uses Country Crock when preparing our food!
Holiday season is right around the corner and Country Crock would love to help make your holiday preparation a little easier this year. Holiday meals aren’t complete without veggies, and we all have that one special dish we can’t wait to prepare…perhaps grandma’s famous candied sweet potatoes or Aunt Joan’s green bean casserole?
My favorite side dish is corn casserole and I use Country Crock to keep the calories down and the taste up! I used to use butter but since everyone watches their calories and fat I tried using Country Crock one year and got even more compliments on the dish – so Country Crock it is!
Here is a Country Crock recipe for baked spiced squash that I thought looked awesome! I will be trying this for sure!
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. Country Crock® Spread
- 2 Tbsp. pure maple syrup or pancake syrup
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1 medium butternut squash, halved and seeded
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°.
- Lightly grease baking sheet; set aside.
- Combine all ingredients except squash in small bowl.
- Arrange squash cut side up on baking sheet; brush with 1/2 of the Spread mixture.
- Bake 45 minutes or until squash is tender, brushing with remaining Spread mixture halfway through cooking.

I started Nicole's Nickels in February 2009 to bring all of the great deals I was finding to my friends and family and then it took off! Since then I've continued my full-time day job as an attorney while blogging in the evenings and on weekends. Nicole's Nickels has evolved into a site that lets you know about great new products and services! I help my clients during the days at the non-profit I work for and then my Nicole's Nickels readers learn about the best new products for their families! I live in south/central Florida and have 2 cute dogs (see their picture under "mascots") and an amazing husband who has a spunky 6 year old we get to spend a lot of time with. I hope you'll take the time to
