Holiday Appetizers with Old London Foods and Giveaway

My family has long been a fan of Old London products, Melba Toast and Melba snacks.  I remember my grandmother eating them with all kinds of toppings and having them at family gatherings as the base of an appetizer.  I still use them today! There are now more varieties and they are even more versatile because of the variety.

We received a big box of these and dove right in! I like them topped with some cream cheese, a piece of smoked salmon and a dill sprig.  Yum! I also like them topped with peanut butter and banana and honey.  See what I mean? You can put anything on them, the crunch is perfect and the taste of the snack or toast compliments the toppings perfectly! Yum!

Here is a fun recipe to make for the holiday courtesy of Old London Foods:

Crispy Shrimp Fritters by Christopher Kostow


  • 20 Old London Sea Salt Melba Snacks, ground fine in food processor
  • 1 lb. Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 eggs, whites and yolks separated
  • 1 tbsp. Heavy cream
  • 2 ribs Green celery, diced small
  • 1 bunch Chives, minced
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 2 cups Olive oil
  • 1 pinch Cayenne pepper
  • Salt, to taste


  1. In a food processor, pulse the shrimp, egg whites, and cream until combined but still chunky.
  2. Add the chives, celery, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Form the shrimp paste into small balls.
  4. Dredge the balls in flour, then into the beaten yolks, and then into the ground Melba Snacks.
  5. Heat the olive oil in a heavy skillet.
  6. When hot, add the shrimp balls and cook until well browned.
  7. Remove from the pan and transfer to a paper towel.
  8. Season with salt.
  9. Serve immediately.
