To re-gift or not re-gift? Is that the question? If it is then I am all for it! I am all about giving the right gift to the right person but sometimes things don’t work out as you envision! I keep a closet in the garage with gifts that I wasn’t so into. I always make sure to mark on a post it who gave me the gift and tape it right to the gift. How embarrassing to give the unwated gift back to the person who gave it to you!
In order to avoid this potential faux paus, look to other ways to “re-gift” which could be selling the item at a yard sale, returning it to the store for store credit to get something you like better, or even to re-sell the gift!
Listia is a great site for off-loading your unwanted items. Listia is like eBay but without needing any money to buy and trade goods. It’s an online marketplace where users exchange goods for FREE! On Listia, you can give away things you don’t want or need. When someone “buys” your items, you earn credits, which you can later redeem for:
· Goods offered by other users
· Brand new items at fixed prices in the Listia Rewards Store
· Donate your credits to charity (December holiday charities you can choose from include, Toys for Tots, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Boys & Girls Club, Goodwill)
Sign up for Listia through this link and you’ll get 500 credits automatically! Once you list an item you’ll get an additional 100 credits – and you’ll be off to a great start!
