I love split pea soup and homemade split pea soup is the best! I only make it a few times a year since we only have ham (with a bone) a few times a year! Split pea soup from a hambone is the best kind! I used my leftover ham bone with meat still on it from Thanksgiving. After Thanksgiving I just threw it in a Ziploc and froze it and so that’s what I’m using. This will be perfect with the leftover hambone from your Christmas ham as well!

I love the smell when the ham stock is simmering – yummy! It’s so easy to use the Hurst beans to make the soup since the beans are already seasoned!
