Week 1 Nutrisystem #NSNation

by Nicole on December 9, 2012

I am so excited to announce that I am a Nutrisystem Nation Blogger! I made an announcement a few weeks ago and was waiting for my food shipment to arrive.  The good news is that it is here and I am at the end of Week 1!

I started the program on Tuesday morning but want to try to post on Sundays so this will be the end of my Week 1 and I am happy to report a great weight loss this week!

Weight loss:  6.6 lbs.

Now….I had eaten terribly last weekend since I was in New York for a wedding so I realize that some of this is for sure water weight.  That being said, I am super proud of myself and love how easy this week has gone for me.  I haven’t been irritable or tired or really even hungry.  I realized that afternoons in the office are my downfall and have had some fresh veggies to munch on in the office refrigerator which has really helped me.

I have been surprised at how much I like the food.  Of course I don’t love every single thing but for the most part I finish a meal and say wow that was good.  Breakfasts have been great – I liked the cinnamon roll, the chocolate frosted donut, the breakfast burrito and the turkey ham and cheese omelet a lot.  For lunch the steak melt and the chicken quesadilla have been my favorites.  For dinner the Italian flatbread pizza has been wonderful!

The meal plan is an easy one to follow.  For breakfast you have a breakfast item and a protein shake.  My favorite shake is the vanilla, for the first time I am actually enjoying a protein shake! Mid-morning you have a protein snack, either dairy like yogurt and cheese or nuts.  For lunch you have a lunch item paired with another protein item like dairy or nuts.  For mid-afternoon snack you have a carb like fruit or a piece of toast.  For dinner you have a dinner item and another carb like some rice or a starchy vegetable.  For dessert you get a dessert item – these are my favorite! The red velvet whoopie pie is amazing! You also need to drink 8 glasses of water per day and add 4 servings of veggies during the day.

I actually find it to be plenty of food and there have been day where I haven’t been able to get the veggies in so this week my goal is to eat more veggies!

You are going to love Nutrisystem. I was on it back in 2008 and I lost 26 pounds and have kept it off. The food is very good and they have a wider selection than when was on it. Congrats and good luck!

Good for you! It’s so hard to stay on a diet-you have to think about every single thing you eat, and it can really make mealtimes stressful. It’s nice that Nutrisystem makes it easier. You don’t have to think about whether or not you should make pizza or pasta, or how large your portions should be. They do it for you.

I was wondering if the meals were any good. They sound really good. I was glad to hear that they are filling too.

This is good to hear. I have always wanted to try the program, but I was afraid the food was gross or not filling.
