Have Movie Night with the Epson MegaPlex MG-50 Easy Home Theater LCD Projector

by Nicole on January 1, 2013

I remember as a kid watching home movies on a large screen at my parents and wanting to watch a regular movie on it like in the theater. My dad explained we didn’t have that capability but we definitely do now in 2013! This projector is just the coolest thing and has some really great features I never would have imagined possible!

The MegaPlex MG-50 projector makes it easy to deliver big screen entertainment virtually anywhere – whether inside for a movie-like setting or even outdoors. It’s a great way to give kids a movie theater experience at home. The MegaPlex MG-50 connects to a wide range of digital devices and features a built-in dock for Apple iPod®, iPhone® and iPad® as well as USB, HDMI and VGA inputs. This versatile connectivity allows users to easily connect and project Microsoft® Xbox 360™, Sony® PS3™, Nintendo Wii™, PCs, TVs, DVD players, Android™ devices and streaming devices like Apple TV and Roku®. Featuring two built-in 10W stereo speakers, MegaPlex can be used separately for audio only – perfect for playing your favorite music while the kids play outside on those warm summer days. Available for $699, MegaPlex MG-50 is a very versatile projector and a great gadget for any mom.

We have had non-stop fun with this projector and while it has a hefty price tag it is one of those items you will be so thankful for on a rainy day or when you’re remembering the awesome memories of neighborhood kids watching a movie outside on a summer evening! There are so many possibilities! I didn’t think we had a wall to do this on but it’s perfect on the wall in our bedroom and Noah loves to watch movies on it this way! The garage door also provides an outdoor arena for watching!

I’m happy to report that it’s also easy to set up and use.  I have been able to figure it out when Jamie isn’t home so that is a bonus.  You can put your Apple device right into the dock for the easiest way to use but you can also hook any Apple or Android device, computer, or even game console up so that means your kids can play video games on the big screen also!

I received the projector to review. All opinions are my own.

Thanks for the review, but What a stinking high price tag!! Much cheaper to hook up AV cables to the tv from the Mac I think.
