New Manischewitz Products and Fun Contest

by Nicole on January 12, 2013

Manischewitz has introduced a variety of new products that you’ll definitely want to add to your shopping list!

The new products include an array of delicious foods spanning three categories; Comfort Foods, Health and Wellness Foods, and Mediterranean Foods. Many of the products feature the Manischewitz Health and Wellness Icon which communicates the healthy attributes of the products such as being all-natural and an excellent source of fiber, low sodium, no MSG, sulfite-free, no artificial preservatives or ingredients and so much more! This icon is a testament to The Manischewitz® Company’s commitment to creating delicious and healthy products for consumers so they can be enjoyed and shared during memorable meals.

Manischewitz® Potato Pancake Mixes, available in Garlic & Rosemary and Veggie flavors, are bursting with new flavors and aromas of Garlic and Rosemary, and Veggie respectively, that everyone will want seconds and thirds of! The 6oz box contains the potato pancake mix and a recipe on the side. SRP for the 6 oz box is $2.99-$3.99.

We tried the new potato pancake mixes and really liked both but thought that garlic and rosemary was the winner! I never think about making potato pancakes unless it’s a holiday but will re-think that for sure! These mixes are so easy to use and the potato pancake is a fun side dish for sure! Noah loves these and they make a nice change to the normal rice or baked potato!

Manischewitz® Mediterranean Gefilte Fish adds a tasty twist that distinguishes it from traditional Gefilte Fish with the flavors of Rosemary, Oregano, and Olive Oil. SRP of the 24 oz jar is $5.99 and is available year round.

Ok, so I know gefilte fish might be something most of you have never had or are totally disgusted by.  I love it though I am aware it may be an acquired taste! I was excited to see a mediterranean gefilte fish and we tried this one as soon as we got the package.  It tastes so different than traditional gefilte fish but we really liked it.  I wouldn’t pair this with the traditional beet horseradish, rather we ate it plain but I think you could actually serve it with a tomato sauce, those flavors would go nicely.

Manischewitz® New “Ready To Serve Meals” are a great, quick and delicious dinner option. The two varieties, Moroccan Roasted Vegetable and Moroccan Roasted Vegetables & Chicken Couscous Sauces, are made in a delicately seasoned Moroccan sauce with roasted vegetables and chickpeas, and are great alone or served on top of rice, pasta, or couscous. SRP for the Moroccan products are $4.99.

We tried the moroccan roasted vegetable couscous sauce and thought it had great flavor.  We had it on top of rice since I didn’t have any couscous handy.  It was semi-thick and full of chunky vegetables that had a nice roasted taste.  You could also put it on top of grilled chicken for a nice mediterranean meal!

Back for a 7th time is the annual Manischewitz Cook-Off Contest. Recipes are being accepted from now through February 4, 2013. This year the live Cook-Off competition will have the five finalists competing live for the $25,000 Grand Prize Package including Maytag® Appliances at the Manischewitz® Manufacturing Plant and Headquarters in Newark, NJ on March 21, 2013. sounds good. I really like potatoes and sometimes need a variety change.
