Nutrisystem, Week #5 Nicole, Week #2 Jamie #NSNation

Nicole’s post:

I am so excited to announce that I am a Nutrisystem Nation Blogger! I am at the end of Week 5 and am happy to report another week of great weight loss! This was my husband’s second week and he did awesome! I am very proud of how well he is doing! Make sure to read his post below.

Weight loss this week: 2.6 lbs.

Total weight loss since start of program: 15.7 lbs

I can’t say enough about how much I am enjoying the Nutrisystem program. Some of my close friends and family have signed up after hearing me rave about the food and see how well Jamie and I are both doing.

We didn’t do any eating out this week which was great! That being said, it was a tougher week for weight loss for me due to hormonal changes that happen in women! I am proud of myself for sticking to the program and registering a loss!

We just placed Jamie’s next order and I made sure to add some of the new items to it. I am super excited to try the Loaded Baked Potato since the Cheesy Homestyle Potatoes are my favorite for lunch!

I had no idea that Nutrisystem had both shelf stable as well as frozen foods. You can get a basic plan which is just shelf stable foods or add in the frozen foods for a more premium plan. I find that I have favorites that are shelf stable and favorites that are frozen so I would recommend trying both if you are able. The cost of Nutrisystem is high but when you consider other diets and the fact that you only need to buy fruits, vegetables and some dairy it is actually quite affordable.  This week I made some really nice salads with lettuce mix, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, cut up cheese stick, marinated mushrooms, fat free Catalina dressing and salt and pepper! I put it in a tupperware, put a few tablespoons of the dressing, put the lid on and shake it up! It is really fresh tasting and a great accompaniment to my Nutrisystem entrees!

Jamie’s post:

Second Week weight loss: 8.6 lbs.

Total Weight Loss: 22.4 lbs

As the end of my second week on Nutrisystem comes to pass, I am as motivated and excited as I was on day one. I have come to the realization that the seven different times I eat during the day really helps the weight loss. I have always had huge success in week one of any diet, but never have I had the weight loss continue so well through the second week. I am really enjoying the different choices I have for each meal with Nutrisystem. I can have a Pancake one day for breakfast an omelet the next, a large variety of breakfast pastries and bars; it is very easy to find favorites.

I would like to share the menu for one of my days. I start with a garden vegetable omelet with a splash of hot taco sauce at 430 am before leaving for work, next I drink my coffee protein shake in the car on the way to work. I start drinking my water at 6am with my 32oz Nutrisystem water bottle (I try for at least 3 more refills throughout the day). As Mid-morning approaches I grab 2 tablespoons of toasted pecans for my power fuel. This snack is surprisingly enough to carry me until lunchtime. Next I grab a steak and cheese melt for lunch, a very tasty meal that is ready in a minute and a half in the microwave. I add a medium apple as my smart carb with my lunch. I amazed this is enough food for lunch for me, but it is. Next I ate a bag of buttered flavored popcorn between 2pm and 3pm on my way home from work. This takes me to 4pm or so when I ate a cheese stick, which was the power fuel from my lunch. When dinner time approaches at about 6pm I had a Lasagna with beef entrée, Zucchini and Squash that I sautéed with olive oil pan spray, herbs, and salt and pepper, a whole grain sandwich thin as my smart carb (to soak up the extra sauce), and two ounces of grilled chicken as my power fuel with my lasagna. I now wait for my last meal of the day, this was a very delicious chocolate brownie sundae which consists of a little cup of chocolate ice-cream with chocolate syrup and little brownie cubes for dessert.

I really try and accept that the small portions are enough for me, this will definitely translate well to anytime I need to eat Non-Nutrisystem food, as I can make the right choices, but will eat too much of it. Now to the most important part, another week of great weight loss! I am very excited for week three on the Nutrisystem and I look forward to my next food order arriving with a few new menu items.

Nutriystem sounds like a very good weight loss program. You both are sure losing a lot of weight. I wonder what happens when you go off this program though. Do you gain the weight back. I think that losing weight is great for a person’s health!

We hope we don’t gain the weight back! I think it’s about making a lifestyle change to eat healthier that will work once we are done with Nutrisystem!
