Nutrisystem. Week #6 Nicole, Week #3 Jamie, #NSNation

I am so excited to announce that I am a Nutrisystem Nation Blogger! I am at the end of Week 6 and am happy to report another week of great weight loss! This was my husband’s third week and he did awesome! I am very proud of how well he is doing! Make sure to read his post below.

Weight loss this week: 1.8 lbs.

Total weight loss since start of program: 17.5 lbs

We are both just chugging along with our Nutrisystem! This was a good week for both of us – we didn’t eat out at all and I even passed up pizza during a lunch meeting at work in favor of my Cheesy Homestyle Potatoes lunch! That was some willpower, huh? It’s easy to keep going when you are seeing such awesome results on the scale!

Speaking of the scale, we weigh ourselves every day.  The program I think recommends once per week but it’s not enough for me.  I know enough about weight loss to know I won’t register a loss every day and I’m ok with that.  I seem to lose a chunk one day and then maybe gain a little then lose the same amount eventually becoming stable at the lower weight.  I’m steadily losing the weight now, not as dramatic as when I first started which is to be expected.

We just got Jamie’s next frozen food order today and woohoo! I’m happy to see some of my favorites that we had finished already! Hello breakfast burrito, chicken quesadilla and chocolate cheesecake – so happy to see you again! Here are some shots of our freezer now:

Those are the breakfasts – cinnamon rolls, breakfast burritos, omelets, pancakes, french toast and more! The portions aren’t large (it’s a diet!) but the food tastes good and it’s filling!

These are the lunches – margharita pizza, steak melt, chicken quesadilla, beef cheese and bean burritos and more! We both love the lunches and try to bring them to work one day to put in the freezer where we can just grab them to microwave when we’re ready for lunch!

And the desserts! Yum! Chocolate cheesecake, red velvet whoopie pie, ice cream sandwiches, chocolate brownie sundaes and more! Such a great ending to the day!


Jamie’s post:

Second Week weight loss: 6.6 lbs.

Total Weight Loss: 29.0 lbs

I am still rolling on pretty well as I prepare to enter my fourth week on Nutrisystem. I have left my past weight loss failures in the past and chalk it up to an experience to prepare me for my current weight loss journey. I have recently begun again to follow the blog of a guy who has lost 275lbs, he has done it without a plan like Nutrisystem, and he has done it just eating 1500 calories a day. I was pleased to figure out that I eat around 1500-1600 calories a day on the plan, which is really important to me because I had so much success eating that amount of calories when I had previously lost 100+ pounds.

Once again the key to the success for me right now is Nutrisystem limiting my ability to make poor decisions. I have been creative with the way I supplement the prepackaged food. I am very into making my own marinated mushrooms that I put in my daily salads. This week’s creation included; cucumbers, red wine vinegar, water, smoked salt, chopped garlic, red pepper flakes, equal, and some dry Italian seasonings. I really enjoy getting my vegetables by way of a nice salad. In addition to this week’s mushroom creation, I made a very tasty vegetable soup (leeks, celery, red peppers, garlic, tomato, carrots, fennel, mushrooms, and kale) for use as a snack when needed and an accompaniment to my dinners.

It is kind of amusing telling people that I am on Nutrisystem as a chef, and seeing their reaction. There is no connection of being able to create amazing and low calorie meals for others as well as myself and having the ability to eat the amount of calories I should in multiple meals daily. I think the small portion sizes will be a key to my eventual success after Nutrisystem, I have in the past have always tried to eat the most amount of food for the least amount of calories, this seems to backfire when I stray and eat higher calorie foods. If I was able to be satisfied with a small or normal portion of food, it will not be such a problem if I choose an item higher in calories.

In addition to following everything that I am supposed to eat, I have been successful at drinking at least one gallon of water daily. I am not exercising yet, but drinking so much water daily definitely keeps me moving. My loss for this week is 6.6 lbs. for a total of 29 pounds at the end of my first 3 weeks; I look forward to a great week number four and telling you all about it.

I’m so thrilled for you both! I love the enthusiasm you’re both bringing to this journey. And I may not have used Nutrisystem, but I’ll say this—Your perspective is awesome. Whatever tools you need to use to stay within the bounds of your budget, it’s all good! The structure is essential and it still “exercises” the mental dynamics we all must embrace. You two—wow…I’m just so incredibly happy for you two. I’ll be following along, my friends!
