I am so excited to announce that I am a http://www.nutrisystem.com/nsblog Blogger! I am at the end of Week 7 and I had a tough week this week. Make sure to read Jamie’s post below about his week.
Weight loss this week: gained .4 lbs.
Total weight loss since start of program: 17.1 lbs
Well this was a tough week for me and I knew it would be. This week I went on a blogger trip to Krispy Kreme headquarters in Winston-Salem, North Carolina! I had a great 2 days but did not stay on program AT ALL and am happy the damage was just .4 lbs. There were such temptations on this trip and I definitely just let myself stray way too much. Looking back I should have brought some bars, snacks, etc to have but I didn’t.
This week I also have a conference to attend and will be away for a few days. I am planning to bring my meals with me and stay on program the whole time. I think if I have a plan it will work out better!
Jamie and I both received our shelf stable orders this week and my frozen order arrived so we are stocked up! There are some great new choices like loaded baked potato, milk chocolate covered pretzels and a cheesecake bar that I can’t wait to try.
Speaking of the program, I haven’t ever enjoyed my veggies this much! Jamie prefers a big salad but I like to eat my veggies throughout the day. When I’m at work I keep some grape tomatoes or sugar snap peas right next to my desk so I can snack all day long. This helps me get my 4 servings in daily! Have you tried the orange grape tomatoes they have out now? I am loving them!
This week my parents are starting the program and while they won’t be blogging about it I’m sure I’ll be sharing occasionally. I checked out their order and they were able to get some delicious looking frozen meals! I snagged one of these canadian bacon, egg white and cheese biscuits from their house and yum!
Second Week weight loss: 0 lbs.
Total Weight Loss: 29.0 lbs
As I continue my journey into week four on Nutrisystem I encountered a few challenges but I finished the week even. I am very good at sticking to the program when everything in my life stays on schedule, no deviation from my routine. This week started a little slow with the weight loss and then my wonderful wife went out of town for a couple of days. This is not an excuse for stumbling a bit, just the facts of the situation. I stayed on track until Wednesday Night when I decided to have a little cheat meal. The unfortunate thing is that if I stray with a meal, I go all the way. The positive thing is that it was only one meal and I was back on track the next day. I think it was a good thing that I felt physically horrible the next day after my Chinese food meal, and will think twice before attempting to sabotage myself again. I also didn’t mentally beat myself up after making a poor food decision; I just started fresh the next morning.
I had a new Nutrisystem dinner Friday night, it was a chicken pot pie, it was pretty tasty and the pastry top was nice. I also had a whole wheat sandwich thin to sop up the remainder of the sauce. Saturday morning I had the biscuits and gravy for breakfast which is pretty good, and a bit peppery. I have continued this past week eating a nice big salad with my dinner, and have started a new batch of my marinated mushrooms (apple cider vinegar, equal, salt, cracked black pepper, garlic and oregano).
Nicole will be out of town again this coming weekend, and I will have to make better decisions while she is gone. I am excited to try some of the new meals that came from Nutrisystem like the Kung pao noodles, tuna noodle casserole, loaded baked potato, cheesecake bar, and chocolate covered pretzels. I have continued to drink a gallon of water a day; I have to work a little harder at drinking water on my day off from work. It’s a bit of a challenge on my day off when I have my son staying with us. In the past most of the days activities were scheduled around where we were going for lunch and dinner. Now we are planning where to go after lunch at home or before dinner at home while bringing snacks with us. This is definitely new for all of us, but it also helps with the food choices for my seven and a half year old son as well. My loss for this week is 0 lbs. for a total of 29 pounds at the end of my first 4 weeks; I look forward to a great week number 5, sharing my secrets for success in dealing with diet adversity, telling you all about it.
