I am so excited to announce that I am a Nutrisystem Nation Blogger! I am at the end of Week 8 and had a pretty good week this week! Make sure to read Jamie’s post below about his week.
Weight loss this week: 1.2 lbs.
Total weight loss since start of program: 18.5 lbs
This was another week where I had some days away from home but this time I stayed on track, pretty much. I say pretty much because on Friday I had lunch at the conference. I just had salad and veggies but I know there were a lot of hidden calories and fat in the salad dressing as well as whatever was used to cook the veggies. It’s so much easier at home when I can control more how my food is cooked but eating out is a part of life! I did pretty well and think that I didn’t lose as much as I wanted because I wasn’t drinking as much water the second half of the week.
I wanted to talk about my new love for greek yogurt. In the past I could have taken it or left it, it was too sour for me and wasn’t something I ever craved or wanted to have more than once a day. All of a sudden I now LOVE greek yogurt! It’s a great choice for a power fuel since ir packs so much more protein than regular yogurt! You do need to watch calories and sugar with greek yogurt, some of the leading brands have over 150 calories in that small cup! My favorites are the Yoplait 100 (love the lime and can’t wait to try the new lemon) and the Dannon Light and Fit Greek – it’s just 80 calories! I love the Chobani flavors but the 140 calories make it an occasional splurge for me now since a power fuel is supposed to be 80-120 calories.
This week I’ll be home all week and on track 100%! Some of my faves are already gone from this shipment – oh breakfast burrito and chocolate cheesecake! Is it bad that I ate my allotment and Jamie’s allotment of these 2 items? Don’t worry about him though, he eats all my omelets! My parents started the program last week and are both reporting excellent first week weight losses as well. They’re not Nutrisystem Bloggers but I figured you all would want to hear about their experience! They are both enjoying the food and remarking that it feels like they are eating more food than they used to and seeing great weight loss results!
I’ve said this a few times but this is my week to start the daily exercise routine! I’m up super early every morning and I’m going to take 30 minutes a day to do one of the many workout videos I’ve collected. I hope this jump starts my weight loss! I know it’s bad to compare myself as far as weight loss goes, but I’d LOVE to have a week of loss like my husband has! Make sure to read his post below.
This Week’s weight loss: 10.4 lbs
Total Weight Loss: 39.4 lbs
I am pretty amazed by week #5. I was really focused this week after going a bit off course last week. I have been switching up my power fuels and smart carbs a little bit. I stayed 100% on the Nutrisystem program this week, and the results exceeded even my high expectations for my weight loss. I really enjoy losing the weight and try to keep that in the front of my mind as I try to steer clear of the daily temptations to go off track. I definitely know that I am a great weight looser when focused, but I can definitely be considered a professional when it comes to gaining weight as well.
If I had one piece of advice for anyone with a lot of weight to loose, it would be find someone who has lost a lot of weight that inspires you . I am very lucky to have found someone that inspires my weight loss and I can relate to their weight loss issues as well as him understanding what I am going through. If you’re interested, his site is http://losingweighteveryday.blogspot.com/. It seems to work a lot better than the normal things like I want to lose weight for my son, for my wife, my health, or because this or that will be better. I want to lose weight for me. I have also came to the conclusion that I am definitely a food addict, so to battle that addiction I have to be ultra-conscious of all the food I consume. I have to constantly battle the urge to go off and eat something bad. I know that keeping nothing off limits is a good way to go, but my problem is moderation. If I could just have a cheeseburger or a taco and move on and feel satisfied by cheating a little that would be great. Unfortunately it would be 3 or more cheeseburgers or Tacos, or the giant Chinese dinner I ate last week. This is a main reason why Nutrisystem is working for me, it makes me have to go out of my way to make a bad choice. I know at some point I will have to be able to eat the proper calories without the aid of pre-portioned food, but hopefully by that time my weight loss will be enough motivation not to sabotage myself by bingeing on fast food etc.
As I mentioned previously, I am a chef. This makes my losing weight even more of a challenge at times. Luckily I am working in a pretty healthy food service operation so there are not too many bad options for me there. I have added artichokes to my homemade marinated mushrooms. I have become more creative with my desserts. I have been combining the Nutrisystem desserts like pound cake, chocolate cake, and carrot cake with 80 calorie Greek yogurt(power fuel), and a banana(smart carb). So now for this week’s stats, I have lost 10.4 pounds for the week and a total of 39.4 pounds.
