The III Forks Experience

by Nicole on January 6, 2013

Jamie and I recently had a lovely date night dinner at III Forks Steakhouse in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. If you’re not local, Palm Beach Gardens is home to a LOT of restaurants and when they aren’t successful they come and go pretty quickly. III Forks has been around for years and I knew it must be pretty good!

I love a good steakhouse and this didn’t disappoint. It was dark inside and we were sat in the bar area where the ceiling was very high and offered a great view of the crescent shaped busy bar. The restaurant was very busy but we didn’t feel rushed at all. The waiter brought deliciously crusty bread with salty butter. The combination was wonderful but we didn’t want to fill up on bread! We each ordered a drink and my martini was made exactly as I requested it (dirty with a shot of hot sauce in it!). We lingered over the menu, finally making our choices.

We split the seafood medley appetizer which contained 2 shrimp cocktail (with mustard and cocktail sauce), a crab cake and a scallop wrapped in bacon. The scallop was the best part but the other 2 items were also really good. I liked the mustard sauce with the cocktail shrimp. We also split a Caesar salad which had the most awesome cheesy garlic croutons on it! The shaved parmesan is a nice touch and the salad was fresh and perfectly dressed.

I ordered the 8 oz. filet mignon while Jamie had the ribeye. My steak was cooked medium rare when I asked for medium well but it was quickly fixed. Jamie’s steak was cooked as ordered. The steaks were slightly charred on the outside but super tender and flavorful inside. We both loved our steaks and remarked that we would return for them!

III Forks does not serve their steaks with side dishes; the side dishes are a la carte. We chose the sauteed mushrooms and the six cheese potatoes as our side dishes. The sauteed mushrooms were just ok but the six cheese potatoes were decadent and delicious. We both thought that their side dishes were not as creative as the side dishes featured at their local competitor steak houses.

We ordered the bread pudding for dessert and it was the perfect touch to a delicious meal and a fun date night!

We received a meal at III Forks. All opinions are my own.

Everything looks so good. I wish I lived there so I could give it a try. I love a good steak too and the only thing I didn’t like was how they served their sides. I would rather have them included on my plate with my steak.

Wow the food sounds sooo good! Your date night looked awesome! I live in North Central Al & we just dont have any good steak house restaurants around here. Our area is growing so we are hoping for great one to come to our area soon! Our date nights usually consist of dinner at our local Chinese Restaurant & then a movie. We did just find a good country home cooking restaurant called The Old Cook Stove about 45 minutes away that we enjoy. It’s owned by an Mennonite family. My MIL took us there for a pre-Christmas family dinner & we all really enjoyed it. Its quiet small & well off the beaten path but a great find for us!
