The Mother Co. Helps Parents Raise Good People and Giveaway

by Nicole on January 9, 2013

I love companies who have a mission like the Mother Co – “helping parents raise good people”. Who can argue with that? Here is some more info about them:

The Mother Company is a group of moms on a mission to “Help Parents Raise Good People.” We offer resources to parents and products for young children based in social and emotional learning. We are creating a helpful and uniquely stylish line of children’s video content (a digital short library as well as full-length shows on DVD and download), as well as books, organic plush dolls, and related products for young kids. Our website is a hub for parents to get helpful tips from our experts and mom contributors about the social/emotional parenting challenges we all face.

Our award-winning show, “Ruby’s Studio: The Feelings Show,” encourages toddlers, preschoolers, and young children (up to age 7) to identify, express, and move through their feelings in a fun and stylish way. We’ve received overwhelmingly positive early testimonials that both parents and kids really connect with our content. Ruby, a whimsical yet grounded art teacher, treats viewers to gentle animated segments (narrated by Mel Brooks), musical dance numbers (sung by Elizabeth Mitchell), puppetry, and hilarious interviews with real kids. We have had raves in the press including People Magazine and Daily Candy, who called us “the best in children’s edutainment.” Our show is considered to be the healthier, more gentle, guilt-free alternative to children’s television.

We received the book Sally Simmons’ Super Frustrating Day and loved it! The messaging is spot on and it is a book that we have read several times since we got it.

With fun rhymes and delightful images, this book will captivate young children as it provides parents with the tools to reinforce valuable life lessons. Sally Simon Simmons’ Super Frustrating Day follows little, red-haired whippersnapper Sally, who is hilariously tasked with building a mile-high, super tall sandwich in class. She sets off with gusto, only to watch her creations land with a splat over and over. Right alonside Sally, children will learn to breathe, take it slow, and try their best in this triumphant exploration of frustration, one of the greatest emotional challenges of early childhood (and beyond!)

We also received The Feelings Show DVD which was a catchy and fun way to talk to children about feelings.

“Ruby’s Studio: The Feelings Show” is a fun and uniquely stylish educational program that helps young children understand, appropriately express, and move through their feelings.  Adorable host, Ruby, guides children on a magical journey of learning through art projects, hilarious interviews with real kids, original music, old-school animated sequences and the Garden Theater puppet show-within-a-show. Featuring the voice of Mel Brooks and the music of kindie rocker Elizabeth Mitchell.
