I am so excited to announce that I am a Nutrisystem Nation Blogger! I am at the end of Week 11 and had a pretty good week this week! Make sure to read Jamie’s post below about his week.
Weight loss this week: ?
Total weight loss since start of program: 22.5 lbs as of last week
OK, so this week was a little different. We had several events we attended and so we decided together not to weigh in on Sunday so we didn’t get discouraged. I stayed on track until Friday when we went out to dinner for my sister in laws birthday and while I didn’t go overboard I did have a drink, some appetizer, a steak, a couple bites of dessert etc. It could have been worse but it also could have been better!
Then Jamie and I went to the South Beach Wine and Food Festival and well, you know how that goes. It was a super hot day so all the sweating may have actually helped us but there was a huge amount of wine and booze and delicious food!
I think part of making a lifestyle change food-wise is about recognizing that you can’t always be 100% strict with food. There might be celebrations or days when you go off the program. And that’s ok since this is a journey. What’s important is getting back on the wagon and making good choices afterwards. I’m happy to report I am 100% back on the Nutrisystem program as of this morning and excited to weigh in next week and hopefully have a loss!
This week I am going to concentrate on getting my water in and following the program exactly. The Nutrisystem app really helps me to make sure that I am staying on the program and making sure I am getting all of my vegetables and extras in as well. It’s on my phone so it goes with me everywhere and is a great reminder should you forget some of the elements of the program!
This Week’s weight loss: ?
Total Weight Loss: 47.0 lbs as of last week
Week number nine started pretty well. I was very motivated after my previous weeks weight-loss. I have been trying to focus on the changing of my lifestyle as it pertains to food. I love Nutrisystem, but I do realize that I sometime need to eat out away from the security of the Nutrisystem food. This weekend presented a few challenges. The first challenge was a birthday dinner for my sister-in-law at a Steakhouse. I needed to treat this as a dinner where I would make good choices and not just make it a cheat day. Unfortunately I did not make the best choices except for my entree which was a seared ahi tuna, with a small amount of jasmine rice. It definitely became a cheat day.
I tried to make this dinner not derail my entire week. I had been good all week leading up to Friday. Then at some point during the week it was established that I would be attending then South-beach food and wine festival. This event I knew there would be multiple bad choices make when I came to food and alcoholic beverages. I will try and approach these types of outings differently in the future. It is important that I do not let Friday and Sundays poor food choices affect the progress I have made over the last 9 weeks.
I made a decision prior to Friday night that I would not torture myself with weighing in this week. I normally take the good with the bad when it comes to the scale. I had a feeling that since I had such a large weight-loss last week, there was a good chance that I may not have much of a loss this week, as prior weeks after a large loss had been slow. The most important thing is that I am back on the program 100% and I am looking forward to a great week. Ultimately I do take responsibility for the bad choices I made, and all I can do is move on and learn to make better food choices especially when I veer away from the wonderful Nutrisystem food.
