Restaurant.com’s DishMob

by Nicole on February 26, 2013

I had the opportunity to attend a  blogger event and DishMob hosted by Restaurant.com last week and wanted to share the experience with you all!

If you didn’t know, Restaurant.com sells $25 gift certificates to restaurants for just $10! This is a great deal and restaurant.com has a focus on locally owned restaurants.  I think it’s super important to support local businesses and love that restaurant.com has filled 5.5 million tables at restaurants each year! At the low price of $10 you can try out several local restaurants!

Here is some more info about the DishMob:
To further our company’s mission, we decided to host five “Dish Mob” events in Orlando, Baltimore, Salt Lake City, Dallas, and Raleigh. In each of these communities we’ve partnered with local organizations focused on giving small businesses the attention they deserve. We’ve all driven past a local restaurant in our own community a hundred times, but never had to the chance to check it out. The Dish Mob initiative is designed to give you an extra to push to support a local restaurant. Who knows, it may even end up being a new favorite! We’ve selected a few local restaurants in each of these communities and are making a call for the local community to give them a try!

We went to Casey’s Grill in Winter Springs, FL for our DishMob! I tried a bunch of the appetizers, including spinach dip and coconut shrimp and thought everything was really fresh and delicious! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and the owner circulated through the restaurant talking to the customers.  The restaurant was full and the DishMob was a success!

I am a Restaurant.com ambassador.  All opinions are my own.

OMGoodness, I would have loved to have participated in something like this – sounds like fun. I purchase and use a lot of Restaurant.com GCs – I’ve discovered a handful of eateries that I would have never tried if not for the discounted dinners.
