by Pennie on February 1, 2013

With the Super Bowl days away, we know you’ve got game-time entertaining on the mind. Hillshire Farm is using Lit’l Smokies to create some fun-filled and satisfying game-time appetizers that you and your guests will find unforgettable!

Enter “Party Animals!” Dress up your cocktail links and turn them into miniature animal look-alikes using basic ingredients already in your pantry. All “Party Animals” can be made with any of our cocktail link varieties including beef, chicken and turkey.

The recipes below are just three of the many Lit’l Smoky Party Animals that will score a touchdown on February 3rd:

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Hillshire Farm Lit’l Smokies®
  • 1 refrigerated pie crust (softened as directed on package)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Mustard

Yield: 20 servings (2 sleepy pigs each)
Prep Time: 30 minutes

  3. Tuck ‘em in for the evening. Wrap each piece of dough around a Lit’l Smokie® and seal edges. Place seam-side down on ungreased cookie sheet. Combine egg and water; brush over dough.
  4. Say night night. Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 10 minutes. Bake extra dough strips for pillows, if desired.
