Celebrate National Pi Day with Pie

by Pennie on March 14, 2013

Every year, mathletes unite around the world to celebrate National Pi (3.14) Day. While this number is well-known in the math realm, did you also know that if you check out the number in a mirrored reflection they’ll spell out the word P-I-E?  Who knew, right?!

Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point. It will continue infinitely without repetition or pattern. While only a handful of digits are needed for typical calculations, Pi’s infinite nature makes it a fun challenge to memorize, and to computationally calculate more and more digits!

Coinciding with this special day, Edwards Desserts has launched THREE new pie flavors: Mounds Coconut, Salted Caramel and Banana Crème!

In my mind, you can never go wrong with a Banana Creme pie, but sometimes I really want a Mounds bar and lately my daughter has gotten me sucked into trying salted caramels.  So, I’m going to have a hard time trying to pick one of these to try.  Hhhmm, maybe this calls for a trifecta of tastings!

This is going to be the first thing I go eat after I am done with my wheat-free/sugar-free diet.
