Tuttorosso has been my go-to for canned tomatoes for as long as I have been cooking! I find the flavors to be great and the product to be high quality!
Nearly all of our loyal consumers grew up on the East coast. Most would not consider using a brand of tomato products other than Tuttorosso for their special Italian family recipes, slow-simmered sauces and gravies. Tuttorosso, meaning “all red”, is a word that many people learn to spell early. Tuttorosso tomato products have been a primary staple in the pantries of discerning cooks since 1929, when the first cans of Tuttorosso were produced from lush tomato fields, like those in the old country. Tuttorosso is owned by Red Gold, a fourth generation family of tomato experts.
The Red Gold company (which makes the Tuttorosso brand) has been around since the 1940s and has focused on growing tomatoes in the Midwest (Indiana, Michigan and Ohio) where true seasons impact the flavor of tomatoes. The Midwest, while it’s cold in the winter, has the perfect growing season for tomatoes, perfect angle of the sun, temperatures — and even the winter is good for tomatoes as it breaks up the soil for tiny root systems.
The Tuttorosso website is very comprehensive and they have a lot of great recipes on there using their products! I came across this quick and savory pasta sauce – how easy and delicious does this sound?
