Movie Night with Horrid Henry The Movie

by Nicole on March 8, 2013

We love movie nights at home – it’s so fun to cuddle up on the couch with some snacks and a great movie! Noah was excited to see Horrid Henry The Movie and it turned out to be a great family movie that we all enjoyed!

Between busy school schedules and crazy winter weather, the one thing we can all count on is some nice family time together at home. Why not curl up with a family-friendly flick that everyone, from kids to mom and dad, will enjoy: Horrid Henry The Movie!

The film stars the illustrious Anjelica Huston and newcomer, Theo Stevenson, as the title character. On March 12, 2013, the limited edition DVD, which features a non-toxic, upholstery-friendly “slime pack” for creating Horrid Henry-style mischief, will be available exclusively at Walmart stores in the U.S.

With a run time of 93 minutes, the movie is rated PG for some silly humor, and features a rocking soundtrack including Katy Perry, The Saturdays and LMFAO’s Party Rick Anthem and will be sure to get everyone on their feet dancing!

You can pick up this movie starting March 12 at your local Walmart.  I stopped by Walmart to grab some yummy snacks for the movies – popcorn and juice for Noah and some veggies and dip for me and Jamie.  We settled in on the couch on a cold night (yes, even in Florida!) and it was 90 minutes of fun!

Plot synopsis: When Henry fails yet again to hand in his homework for the umpteenth time, he inadvertently sets off an unexpected and curious chain of events. He forms an unlikely alliance with Moody Margaret, the infuriating girl next door, wins a talent contest, and stands up to his ultimate nemesis. With each antic crazier than the last, Henry finds himself inexplicably trying to save the very school which he has always professed to hate!

The plot was cute and the movie moved pretty quickly.  This wasn’t a kids movie where I stayed on the computer the whole time and pretended to watch.  Jamie and I both actually watched and laughed out loud quite a few times.  Noah is 7 and the movie was fine for him, the PG rating didn’t bother me at all.  The music was also great and Noah asked to download a few of the songs from iTunes!

I received the movie and some items for movie night.  All opinions remain my own.
