Jamie’s this Week’s weight loss: ?

Jamie’s Total Weight Loss: 48.0 lbs as of last week

We decided to write this post together since this has been the first week where life has thrown us a total wrench that has affected us both equally.  You know how they say when it rains it pours? This week we had a hurricane here and we failed the test.

Our dog Chester (who I call my son) has been having some medical problems and the vet told us he thought it was cancer.  I had to leave work I was so upset and I am definitely a stress eater.  This happened at the beginning of the week and is still upsetting me.

To add insult to injury my aunt just moved to Florida (like last week) from Boston so she could be closer to family in her retirement.  This week she is in the hospital with pneumonia and is having breathing problems.  I am the one who lives the closest and so the role of caregiver falls on me.  My father has been present as well but he lives 45 minutes away and has a cold himself.

Needless to say it has been a tough week for our family.  Between worrying about the dog and spending a lot of time at the hospital I wasn’t able to grab the produce we usually eat during the week and we weren’t home for many dinners.  Food addiction is a tough thing because your head says things like if you were bad already this week why not make the whole week bad? It’s hard to resist these thoughts sometimes and Jamie and I both have them.

Yesterday we sat down together and made a pact (we even shook on it) to start completely fresh today on Nutrisystem and devote ourselves to it 100% no matter what may happen in life.  The program is easy to do on the go with a little forethought and our problems this week were just an excuse to eat poorly.  We make our own decisions in life and for our health and life together we need to make this decision.

I went to the grocery store and stocked up on the produce we eat each week and will be placing a new Nutrisystem order today.  We really love the program and our having issues this week had nothing to do with Nutrisystem at all   – it was just a super eventful week and as stress eaters it wasn’t an easy one emotionally.  Jamie and I need to rely more on each other to get through these tough weeks.  I’m excited to get a new food order and restock our old favorites.

Sometimes it is hard to stay on course because life happens. I have lots of trouble staying on any diet plan I’ve decided I have no self control. I admire your determination
