Save $.10 Per Gallon Every Day With SmartPay from Cumberland Farms

by Nicole on March 6, 2013

I travel a lot in the area for work and Jamie lives over an hour from his job so we drive a lot and all of that driving adds up to lots of gas! I am always on the lookout for ways we can save money on gas and this SmartPay program at Cumberland Farms does just that!

According to AAA, pump prices are the highest on record for this month and will continue to rise especially along the coasts.

Cumberland Farms recently launched a new payment program that saves drivers 10 cents on every gallon of gas, every day. No gimmicks, no catches – just saving!

Here’s how SmartPay works:

-Register for free at to link to your checking account.

– Then either download the SmartPay app for free to your iPhone or Android – or, if you still rock a flip-phone, you can pick up a physical SmartPay card at participating Cumberland Farms/Gulf locations.

– To fill up your tank, simply enter your pump number into the mobile app, which will automatically turn on the pump and withdraw the appropriate amount from your checking account. No cash, coins, or credit cards needed.

– You’ll save 10 cents on every gallon of gas every time you use SmartPay, and the app even includes a rolling-dial display showing your lifetime savings.

It was super easy to sign up and get going.  I linked my checking account and downloaded the app and the next time I went to Cumberland Farms I opened the app and it automatically located the Cumberland Farms gas station I was at.  I entered the pump number and it turned the pump on and deducted the amount from my checking account! I didn’t have to do anything! Love this! I think this would be great for a teenager whose parents want to make sure they have gas but don’t want to give them a credit card!

I received a giftcard to try out the service. All opinions are my own.
