I’m pretty sure I’ve told you how I feel about closed-in shoes. To sum up, I feel like my feet are trapped in boxes with no air holes and no sunlight. We had our first really warm day here in a while, so flip flops were definitely the first thing to come out! There are a few DIY flip flops on Pinterest that I’ve been wanting to try but haven’t gotten around to, so I thought I’d bring them out for you to ponder.
I pinned this pair from Ashley at Make It – Love It ages ago. What I liked immediately about these is the strap goes around the heal. I am one of those people who falls off of flat shoes. So if I don’t have a strap to hold my foot in, anything could happen. The braid is made out of t-shirt material. I’ve been waiting patiently for about 3 years for my niece to make these for me, as promised. I’m not holding my breath!
From Shazbraz at Pinching your Pennies - what I like about these is the knot high up on your arch, instead of down by your toe. Dresses it up a bit, in my opinion.
From Destri at the Mother Huddle - This pair is called the Key West and it’s pure Florida fun in my mind. I like the added flower with the bead that matches her pedicure!
Also from the Mother Huddle - this pair is called the Knot so Hard. This has multiple knots going up your foot. I like the print of the fabric on the white foot bed.
There are so many DIY flip flop ideas I could go on for quite some time, so if these piqued your interest do a search on Pinterest for “DIY flip flops” and see what you find. And one last pin, just to bring it all together. Once you have all these lovely pairs of flip flops you really need a good place to store them. This next idea is fantastic!
From Jen at Epbot.com the flip flop hanger!
If you try any of these ideas, or have some of your own you’d like to share, please post a comment about them!
