I like items that I can use in more than one way. Especially when other people have provided me with creative and interesting ways to use said item. This week we shall explore the world of tin cans on Pinterest.
This first tin can pin I did was for Christmas, but since we are coming up on the spring and summer months, I thought this version would be more appropriate. From Elise at Grow Creative are Tin Can Lanterns. They are cheap and easy to make (you need no creative talent to do these!). They cut down on your recycling needs and your electrical use and they are just so darn cute! And I really like the shade of blue and green that she used.
From Recycle Reuse Renew Mother Earth Projects come these towel storage tin cans. Pretty neat alternative to baskets.
From Eliza at Eliza K Prints is a tutorial for making tin cans into planters for succulents. Including instructions for making the great looking labels!
This Wind Chime idea came from Learn 2 Grow – there aren’t any instructions, but it looks pretty simple to figure out.
Of course there were many tin can desk organizers, but I particularly like this one from Allison at Petit Elefant. I think it’s the dotted cork that does it for me.
This next picture is a version of the hanging herb garden, but I couldn’t find the original post at the Home and Garden Blog. I really like the look of it. But I wanted you to have some instructions so I’m including a link to Kay Taylor’s site that has instructions for a very similar idea.
Kelli at Random Thoughts of a Supermom created these great looking 4th of July windsocks from tin cans. I think you could use this basic idea and do just about any color combo you want.
KurryLeaves reminds us that we can bake this Hershey’s cake in a tin can:
And if you are ever craving that grilled out flavor but don’t have a grill handy – but you do have a tin can…
I had a lot of fun exploring Pinterest this week. I hope you enjoy what I found!
