04/16 Pinterest Pin(s) of the Week: Sewing for Baby Girls

by Pennie on April 16, 2013

With the new granddaughter in the house I’ve been waiting and waiting to make a few things for her to wear.  Nothing fancy, just something from Grandma.  I’m in love with pillowcase dresses, so I’ve included at least one of those, but I found a few other items to show you as well.

To begin, here is this beautifully simple, but wonderfully elegant double layered pillowcase dress from Anneliese at Aesthetic Nest.  I love the combination of the natural linen and the silky under skirt and bow tie.

Anneliese also has a pattern for a Patriotic Pillowcase Dress, with or without a ruffle.

From Anshu at Blooms and Bugs comes this really cute reversible dress.  Perfect when you are out, since kids are so prone to getting stuff on themselves.

Anshu also has this Flutter Sleeve dress made from a man’s t-shirt!

Here is another Pillowcase Dress from Jill at Baby Rabies that was just too cute to leave out.

The Hannah Playset from The Charlotte Letters is the perfect thing for little girls in the hot summer months.

This shirred Strawberry Sundress and Bloomers from Stephanie at the TipToe Fairy just looks like summer to me!

And speaking of bloomers, Dana at Made has a simple little tutorial for diaper covers.

Just to finish things off how about some shoes?  First these perfect little Mary Janes from Amber at Crazy Little Projects.

And last these Forget me Knot shoes from the creative sisters at Schwin & Schwin.

Pinterest has so many great ideas to think about.  I hope I sparked your interest!

at our recnt yard sale, a customer was describing the pillow case dresses they make from remnant fabric for third world countries – i think a lot like your first pin. my friend gave her a lot of her fabric for this good cause.

I really like the Patriotic Pillowcase dresses – they are really cute. I wish I had the skill to make things like this.
