Delicious Desserts from Weight Watchers Ice Cream

by Nicole on April 22, 2013

After months of careful product development, Weight Watchers Ice Cream is excited to bring six new products to grocery stores nationwide this Spring. Each new product is made with real ice cream and tastes indulgent while staying low in fat and calories and keeping a PointsPlus® value of 3 or less. As always, Weight Watchers Ice Cream delivers the perfect treats for anyone who wants to enjoy ice cream without going overboard.

I had my in laws try out these new Weight Watchers ice creams since we have been trying to stay on program! They were so excited to get the cooler and called me every night they tried a new one to give me their report on it! There are 6 new varieties:

Weight Watchers Greek Frozen Yogurt Bars
Greek yogurt has exploded in the past couple of years as a popular snack, so why not offer people a frozen version of the snack they love? The new Blueberry Swirl and Peach Swirl Greek Frozen Yogurt Bars are made with low fat Greek frozen yogurt and real Blueberry and Peach fruit swirls. Each bar offers the nutritional benefits of Greek yogurt including 2 active cultures and 5 grams of protein with just 80 calories and a PointsPlus value of 2. No spoon required!

These were my mother in laws favorite.  She loves Greek yogurt and so I figured she would love these.  She said they were very tangy and refreshing and she thought the fruit really added to the product.  She liked the blueberry best but also liked the peach.

Weight Watchers Snack Size Red Velvet Ice Cream Sandwiches
Staying right on trend with the current red velvet craze, the Snack Size Red Velvet Ice Cream Sandwich is made with low fat cream cheese frosting flavored ice cream with a red velvet chocolate swirl between red velvet chocolate wafers. It has 100 calories, 1.5 grams of fat and a PointsPlus value of 3 per sandwich.

These were my father in laws favorite – he loves red velvet! He said he liked that they were rich tasting and would never have guessed they were Weight Watchers!

Weight Watchers Chocolate Smoothie Frozen Yogurt Bars
For traditional frozen yogurt fans, the new Chocolate Smoothie Frozen Yogurt Bars are made with low fat frozen yogurt and real chocolate to satisfy cravings with just 60 calories, 1.5 grams of fat and a PointsPlus value of 2 per bar.

My mother in law said these reminded her of a fudgesicle and that she liked how large they were for just 2 points.

Weight Watchers Cookies & Cream Dessert Bar
This treat offers three levels of cookies & cream goodness in one bar. It’s made with low fat cookies & cream ice cream with a chocolate cookie fudge swirl dipped in a rich chocolaty cookie crunch coating. And as if that wasn’t enough, it has just 120 calories, 5 grams of fat for serious indulgence at a PointsPlus value of 3 per bar.

My father in law also liked these a lot – he said that he really would never have known this was a “diet” dessert and that he would be happy to have one of these every night after dinner!

Weight Watchers GIANT Latte Bars
The classic GIANT Latte bar is better thanks to an even creamier low fat coffee flavored ice cream base. Coffee lovers will swoon for this treat which weighs in at just 90 calories and 1 gram of fat and a PointsPlus value of 2 per bar.

My mother in law said this was like iced coffee on a stick and she really loved it.  She said it was very creamy and the coffee flavor was perfect!

The new Weight Watchers Ice Cream products are available at retail grocery outlets nationwide as of March 2013 for a suggested retail price of $5.49.

My in laws received samples to review. All opinions are theirs and mine.

I like so many of Weight Watcher’s desserts because they are low in calorie and really help me curb my sweet tooth. I see that there is a new bar out. I will have to look for it next time in the store!

I can’t wait to try the new bars. My kids are crazy over the Ice Cream Candy Bars. They only have 4 points and are worth every point. Plus I don’t feel guilty eating it. :)
