Nutrisystem. Week 21 Nicole, Week 18 Jamie

I am so excited to announce that I am a Nutrisystem Nation Blogger!

Nicole’s weight loss this week: lost .5 lbs.

Nicole’s Total weight loss since start of program: 24.9 lbs.

Slow and steady wins the race! Well, maybe not but maybe? I will take any loss or non-gain that I can.

This week I wanted to comment on eating out while on Nutrisystem. It is hard for sure but can be done. I think that lunch and dinner are pretty easy actually. You just order a big veggie salad with fat free dressing (or bring your own). Once you get home (or before if you wanted) you eat a Nutrisystem entree or a bar if it’s lunch time. I have also brought my lunch bar with me to lunch before, no one cares if you eat it there!

I haven’t been out to breakfast while on Nutrisystem but that would be a little more difficult. You could order some fruit and yogurt and then eat a breakfast entree or bar once you finish (or before). My point is that it is very possible to still have a social life and eat out while on the Nutrisystem program.

Today finished another week on the Nutrisystem. I had some ups and downs this week. I am still trying to keep in mind that the weight-loss is a marathon and not a sprint. I think the longer you are on a weight-loss program you have to adapt it to work with your lifestyle. I am still enjoying the vast choices that I have in Nutrisystem meals.

I think learning how to eat out while on Nutrisystem is very important to me. I have figured out there is two ways to go when eating out. You can eat small portions of whatever you want, but keeping the portions small to keep the calories in check. It’s obviously doesn’t work with extreme high calorie food like fried foods. The second way is to go very simple with the food, keep the foods high in protein and vegetables and eliminate the simple carbs, and eat low complex carbs.

I think one of the great things about the Nutrisystem program is the food doesn’t taste like diet food, it’s tasty food, but in appropriate portions. This definitely helps me with the urge to binge on bad things. I regularly get to eat pizzas, ice cream, pasta, and potatoes.

This weeks weightless was slow at .5 lbs , any week without a gain is good for me.

Great job this week. Anytime you are thinking about what you eat and making a better choice is a great thing. the scale doesn’t always tell the full story. Keep up the good work!

Congrats Nicole! To your hubby too! That’s awesome! My cousin has been on Nutrisystem for over 2 yrs. She said she doesn’t have to buy a lot of meals but she finds it easier to still get some and the bars. She’s lost 90-100 lbs. It’s kinda funny she has been overweight all her life and I was thin except when I was pregnant. We laugh about it now b/c she’s thin and I’m overweight. I have major pain issues so it’s hard to lose it.
Everytime I read about yours and jamies weight loss I know I could do it and then reality sets in. You guys are such an inspiration. You’re both doing a great job so keep up the good work. :)
