Ola! 100% Natural Granola

by Pennie on April 17, 2013

Ola! is an all-natural granola that is shaking up snack time. According to Ola!, granola is no longer simply a breakfast food but can be used in everything from cookies to waffles to salads and also is a perfect snack all by itself. The No Nut Vanilla flavor is especially kid-friendly and perfect for on the go snacking. Other flavors include Vanilla Almond and Cranberry Orange Pecan.

I recently had the opportunity to try all 3 flavors of Ola! Granola and I had a hard time picking a favorite.  (Although…I’m a nut for nuts so Vanilla Almond and Cranberry Orange Pecan did have an edge over the No Nut Vanilla!)  What I liked about all 3 was the fresh taste, the light sweetness, and the hearty size of the granola pieces and the nuts and cranberries.  I didn’t find lots of tiny little pieces in the bags, but nice clusters that weren’t rock hard like some granolas I’ve tried.

The Vanilla Almond had a nice, light cinnamon taste and was perfect by the handful.  It is the classic granola taste.  Between me, my daughter and my grandson, the first 1 ounce snack bag was gone in a matter of moments!  The pecans in the Cranberry Orange Pecan flavor were wonderful, toasted and crunchy with a hint of orange and cinnamon.  And the No Nut Vanilla had the same nice flavor as the Vanilla Almond but without the nuts!  So, definitely something for everyone.

I love that this is a natural product, there are no unpronounceable preservatives in the list of ingredients (which is wonderfully short), they are vegan and only 120 calories per ounce.  A really healthy snack.  But also a great addition or base as well.

Of course I added the Vanilla Almond to Greek yogurt, which was fantastic.  I heated the No Nut Vanilla with milk and cooled it down with some frozen blueberries and that was pretty darn yummy for breakfast.  I added the Cranberry Orange Pecan to a salad with a little grilled chicken and a balsamic vinaigrette – I could eat that many more times!  I also made my regular oatmeal cookie recipe but substituted the Vanilla Almond Ola! for the oatmeal and they turned out great.   This is definitely a product I would recommend to family, friends and you!

Ola! can be purchased online or in store (complete list of retailers is available here).   Nicole’s Nickels readers can get free shipping when you order online by using the code NNS2013 at checkout.

I don’t think I have tried Ola before but I love granola. The Cranberry Orange Pecan sounds awesome!
