Ocean Spray’s Sun-Sational Awards and Cran-Lemonade Giveaway

Yum – have you tried Ocean Spray’s Cran-Lemonade yet? I am not the biggest cranberry drinker but this beverage was super refreshing and I loved the tart flavor the cranberry added! What a great drink for a hot summer day!

The cranberry cooperative is on a mission to find and celebrate a person whose selfless attitude and giving spirit is making his/her community better. Head to Ocean Spray’s Facebook page to nominate a friend, relative or community member for the chance to give (and receive for themselves!) a sun-sational summer getaway, compliments of Ocean Spray’s latest juice drinks, CranlLemonade™ and JetBlue. Nominations should be at least 200 words, but no more than 500. Photos and video are welcome but not required. Important contest dates are:

· June 28: Finalists announced; video profiles featured on Facebook
· June 28 – July 11: Fan voting

Ocean Spray has some delicious recipes on their website and I wanted to highlight one that I think sounds awesome – stuffed cran-lemonade cupcakes! Here is the recipe:

Stuffed Cran-Lemonade Cupcakes


  • 1 box (16.25 ounces) white cake mix
  • 1 1/4 cups Ocean Spray® Cran•Lemonade™ Cranberry Lemonade Juice Drink
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 egg whites
  • 2-3 drops red food coloring
  • 1 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 (1 ounce) package instant lemon pudding mix
  • 1 container (12 ounces) whipped ready-to-spread vanilla frosting


  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Line 24 medium muffin cups with paper liners.
  3. Blend cake mix, cranberry lemonade, vegetable oil and egg whites in a large bowl at low speed until moistened (about 30 seconds).
  4. Then beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.
  5. Fill prepared cup cake cups 2/3 full.
  6. Add a few drops food coloring, if desired.
  7. Fill muffin cups about 2/3 full.
  8. Bake 18 to 23 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  9. Remove from pans.
  10. Cool on wire rack.
  11. In medium bowl, whisk together milk and pudding mix 2 minutes; cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
  12. Using melon baller or small spoon, hollow out center of each cupcake, leaving side and bottom intact.
  13. Fill centers with pudding.
  14. Spoon frosting into decorator bag fitted with medium star tip.
  15. Pipe frosting around outer edge of cupcake leaving center of lemon filling visible.
  16. Serve immediately or cover loosely and refrigerate up to 2 days.
  17. Makes 24 cupcakes.
