Rent Your College Text Books!

by Pennie on June 24, 2013

I know it seems like summer just started and for new and continuing college students the fall is far, far away.  But now is a good time to start planning for your money needs for this fall.

One of the largest costs in college is the plethora of text books you need to have for all your courses.  Buying your texts at the college book store can be pretty shocking to the wallet.  There is an alternative: renting texts instead of buying!  Campus Book Rentals has a great, flexible program that allows you to rent a text for just the amount of time you need it whether you have semesters, trimesters or quarters or terms (you can event rent for a custom amount of time!)

Some perks are:

  • save 40-90% off of bookstore prices
  • free shipping both ways
  • can highlight in the textbooks
  • flexible renting periods
  • we donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented

How does it work?:

But how about you current college students that have already bought texts? There is a sister company just for you: RentBack. RentBack is new initiative that allows you to rent the textbooks you own – to other students… which makes you 2-4x more money compared to what you’d make through buyback options! (Selling your books back at the end of the semester.)  Isn’t that great?!

My niece does this and she said that it’s saved her close to $1K so far. With college as expensive as it is, this is a big help! Also, check your local library, as she’s been able to find some of her books there as well.
