07/09 Pinterest Pin(s) of the Week: Summer Crafts for Kids

by Pennie on July 9, 2013

It’s only been a couple of weeks since my grandson was out of school, but he is already bored and driving my daughter crazy at the same time.  Time to check Pinterest for crafts for kids.

I’m going to try to find crafts for a wide range of ages, but don’t be surprised if the focus turns out to be younger kids!

From Sippy Cup Mom are these ridiculously cute and easy Painted Rock Pets.    I like this picture because it shows the variety of ways you could go with your paint and add-ons:

SippyCupMomThe Chirping Moms gives us 5 Simple Crafts for Kids.  I really like this Jellyfish but it is followed closely by the Butterfly (see the site for the other projects).

For another creature from the sea All Free Kids Crafts provides the instructions for these Styrofoam Cup Crabs!  (You have to sign up for the website to access the instructions, but that’s not bad for the ABUNDANCE of crafts they have listed!)

From Crafts Unleashed is this great idea for kids who are a little bit older – Bottle Cap Necklace:

I know I’ve referenced Spoonful.com before, it’s a great place to find all sorts of interesting things for kids.  I pulled the next several crafts from an article titled “40 Cool Summer Crafts for Kids”.  First up is this Woven Tie-Dye Wall.  It’s so cool, I’d like to try it myself!

Also from Spoonful.com are these REALLY, really cute Personalized Nature Pals made from items you can find around your yard!

This Monster Mural is a good, creative way to have the kids use up some energy.  Just make sure they don’t start throwing paint at each other!

This is my last one from Spoonful.com, it’s a Pierced Sun Catcher to hang in your window!

I’m a huge fan of hand-held fans (no pun intended)!  Probably because they remind me of pre-airconditioning summer  days.  From Mr. Printables are these super cute Paper Fans:

I don’t know any kid who wouldn’t want this Glow in the Dark Slime provided by Domestic Charm.

This last craft is from a Hungarian website Kifli és Levendula: Toilet Paper Roll Cars!  The whole site is in Hungarian, but if you follow the pictures you can figure it out, or you can do a Google translate!

Sorry this is late today, but hopefully your kids are in bed so you can take time to go over these Pins and plan ahead!

Thank you for these great ideas! I care for two of my grandchildren during the summer months and this should end the “I’m bored” periods of the day.

I’ve always wanted to paint rocks with my nephew – I think that it would be a lot of creative fun.

These are some great kids crafting projects to do this summer. We especially love the paint filled balloon art work. So fun & clever.
