07/23 Pinterest Pin(s) of the Week: Summer Drinks

by Pennie on July 23, 2013

When it’s hot outside you really want a refreshing cold drink.  Sometimes you want a little alcohol added, sometimes not.  As I looked around Pinterest all of these jumped out at me, either because of the ingredients or because they just look great!

From Give Recipe is this yummy looking Quick Watermelon Summer drink.  The colors are so vibrant and enticing, I just want to dive in!

Quick-Watermelon-Summer-Drink2This Blueberry Lemon Fizz from The Great Party Box does have vodka in it, but I think you could make a non-alcohol version very easily!

From Backroads and Barstools comes this Sexy White Wine Sangria.  I’m not a traditional sangria lover but this version is very tempting!

The Incredible and Sometimes Edible Egg (great name!) has the recipe for this Pink Lemonade Margarita.  A non-alcohol version could substitute Sprite and orange juice for the Tequila and Grand Marnier.  (Yes, I know Sprite doesn’t taste like Tequila, but it would give it a nice fizzy quality!)

Mary at Home is Where the Boat Is concocted this refreshing Strawberry Lime Agua Fresca.  Pretty sure I could drink the whole pitcher!

This looks like a jarful of deliciousness!  Orange Whip is from the Gunny Sack.  Love the presentation!

The Steamy Kitchen has this invigorating Apple Ginger Mint Iced Tea.  The julienne strips are ginger!

Cherry Berry Smoothie

Midwest Living Magazine published this recipe for a Cherry Berry Smoothie.  Looks like summer bliss to me!

Dessert Now Dinner Later (great philosophy!), did a variation on a recipe from High Heels & Grills to give us this Frozen Coconut Limeade.  YUMMY!

Last one, I promise!  Just because I’m VERY fond of Chai tea frappes, I zeroed in on these Chai Iced Tea Cubes from Will Cook for Friends.  The picture (which is beautiful) shows pouring milk over the finished cubes.  I say put the cubes and milk in the blender to get one of my favorite summer drinks!

I’m ready to run to the kitchen and make a few of these.  Anything particularly appealing to you?

I’d love to make the Apple Mint Ginger tea – that looks really good. I also would like to make a summertime drink using watermelon one of these days.

That Strawberry Lime Agua Fresca sounds great. I’ve been looking up drink recipes and so many have alcohol in them.

All of these sound so good but I am going to try your Pink Lemonade Margarita. My hubby would love the frozen Coconut Limeade.
