07/30 Pinterest Pin(s) of the Week: All things Ombre

by Pennie on July 30, 2013

My daughter and I got into a conversation yesterday that ending up talking about all things ombre; you know shades from dark to light or light to dark.  You’ve seen it in hair color, like this gorgeous head of hair from Jonathan and George:

But my daughter went on to let me know that the ombre look isn’t just for hair, it’s everywhere.  So I went off on a Pinterest adventure to see how this trend is affecting, well, everything!

From our friends at Fab.com is this wonderfully summery necklace!

FabNecklaceRick-a-Bam-boo sells this: Olive the Ombre Zipped Clutch!

Lily Boutique sells this Grey and White Ombre High Low Dress – really cute.

And of course you can do your nails in ombre – this is each nail in a different color – Love these pink shades from Zoya!

Or you can do your nails from dark to light on each nail from Long Hair Styles Howto:

Then I started seeing a lot of party related ombre pins.  Love this for a little (or big) dude’s (or anyone who likes blue!) birthday from House of Rose.

There are even ombre themed weddings, starting with wedding cakes like these from Lambs and Kings!

Plus you can create these fab place cards as seen at Wedding Vibe:

You also need centerpieces for the reception.  This grouping from Society Bride is beautiful.

There are also some really cute ombre items for the kids, from clothes to toys.  These Crocheted Owls from Etsy are so adorable!

And if you want to do something ombre in your home, Pinterest has plenty of inspiration.  Starting with this nightstand from Painted Furniture Ideas!

Ethan Allen has ombre accent pillows in lots of different shades.

From Ed Concept is the Pink ombre Plank wall that is so lovely.  I really like the softness of the hues.

If you really want to add some color in an unusual place try something like this Radiator from Wary Meyers!

And lastly here are two items you can do easily yourself (instructions included).  First this step stool from Pepper Design:

This one is so cute and will make a great end-of-the-summer craft to help keep the kids busy before school starts.  From Craft by Photo comes Dip-Dyed Shoes.

Just to let you know how this came full circle, as I showed this post to my daughter, she now wants to run upstairs and repaint the baby’s room in an ombre fashion.  Thanks, Pinterest!

I tried the dip dyed shoes, adding glitter to the dye to make sparkly shoes for my princess/fairy obsessed daughter. They turned out really great!

I didn’t know anything about Ombre until now and I like it. I can think of several ways to do my grandchildren’s rooms. I can’t wait to see what colors they will pick out.
