My daughter has been trying to move my grandson to a gluten free diet. He has had a few health problems and she is trying to eliminate gluten as an issue. The problem with little kids is that once they get a taste for an item, it’s hard to get them to try a different version. And my grandson loves a particular granola bar. She’s tried swapping them out for a gluten free version, with little success.
So Amanda’s recipe at A Few Shortcuts this week is perfect timing for us. This Homemade Granola Bars recipe looks wonderful just as it is. I would definitely eat these, without hesitation. The ingredients are foods I love, like pecans & oatmeal. But also important is it can serve as a good base recipe for trying other add-ins that might be more acceptable to my little man.
