It’s tailgating season! Let’s be honest, game day just isn’t complete unless you’re tailgating with your beverage of choice and great food, and it’s definitely not complete unless you’re biting into a crunchy Vlasic pickle!

Have you seen these new Farmer’s Garden by Vlasic? They are available nationwide wherever pickles are sold, and each jar of Farmer’s Garden by Vlasic pickles is packed with real ingredients – no artificial coloring, flavoring or corn syrup – to deliver a great pickle with authentic taste and maximum crunch. Farmer’s Garden pickles are Vlasic’s best pickle product yet, with a mix of cucumbers harvested at the peak of freshness with inclusions of other vegetables like crunchy carrots, red bell peppers, and fresh garlic cloves, all in an artisan-quality mason-style jar. These pickles are great for any time of day and are a perfect way to kick off grilling season right!Varieties include:

Dill Chips – NEW cut of the traditional flavor with a refreshing dill taste
Kosher Dill Spears – the perfect cut for a classic sandwich side
Kosher Dill Halves – the original “out of the jar” snack
Bread & Butter Chips – sweet and delightful, cut in extra-crunchy slices
Zesty Garlic Chips – a fan-favorite variety that is bold with a tangy kick, also in extra-crunchy slices

We chose the Bread and Butter Chips, the Dill Spears and the Dill Halves! I love to doctor up my bread and butter pickles by adding red chili flakes to make them sweet AND spicy! These I left plain since I wanted everyone to try their delicious flavor!

I decided to make some pickle dip to watch the game with.  The recipe is super easy and everyone loved the tang! You know how pregnant women love pickles right? Well, I ate the dip leftovers for lunch yesterday with a fork I love it so much!

Here is the recipe:

Pickle Dip

Pickle Dip

  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup dill pickles, chopped finely
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp pickle juice
  • 1/4 cup sour cream

  1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until well combined!

I also made these faux fried pickles that are actually baked.  For this one I used the dill spears.  I made a batter from beer and egg and then dipped the spears in flour with some seasoned salt.  Super easy! These tasted delicious with some ranch dip with a touch of cayenne pepper added to it! Everyone thought these were fried, they were super crispy!

I have a jar of the Kosher Dill Spears and haven’t opened them yet. I really want to try your faux fried pickles recipe, they sound really good.
